  8. 1 cup whole milk
  9. ½ cup vegetable oil
  10. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  11. 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Gradually add the boiling water to the batter (it will be thin).
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting

  • For a richer flavor, frost the cake with a thick layer of chocolate ganache or your favorite frosting.
