  10. 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
  11. 2 cups powdered sugar
  12. Β½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  13. 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, until fully combined.
  • Stir in the pureed strawberries until evenly mixed.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
  • For the frosting, beat together powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  • Frost the cooled cakes with the strawberry frosting and serve!
