  1. 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  2. 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  5. 1 tablespoon orange zest
  6. 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  7. ½ teaspoon baking powder
  8. ¼ teaspoon salt
  9. ½ cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the eggs, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips, if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a more intense orange flavor, feel free to add extra orange zest.
  • These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
