Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb flank steak or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  2. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  3. 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  4. 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  5. 1 large onion, sliced
  6. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 1/4 cup soy sauce
  8. 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  9. 1 tablespoon honey
  10. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  11. 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  12. 1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper
  13. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch (if using), black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Add the cooked steak back into the skillet, then pour the prepared sauce over the top. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and the steak is fully coated.
  • Serve immediately, either on a sizzling plate or directly from the skillet, for an authentic sizzling effect.
