- 2 lbs starchy potatoes (like Russets)
- 1 lb pork sausages
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cups beef broth
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and chop the potatoes into equal pieces, then place them in a pot of cold salted water.
- Boil the potatoes over high heat for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
- While boiling, cook the sausages in a skillet over medium heat for 10-12 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onions until translucent (about 5-7 minutes). Add flour and stir for one minute before gradually whisking in beef broth until smooth.
- Drain the potatoes, return them to the pot, add butter and milk, and mash until creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve mashed potatoes topped with sausages and gravy.
